Another Destructive Earthquake Occurs in Indonesia

Indonesia Meteorology, Climate and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) announced that an earthquake of 6.2 magnitude occurred in East Java province. The agency stated that the earthquake, which occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, was also felt from Bali Island, and stated that there was no tsunami risk due to the severe shaking.
Local authorities reported that damage assessment studies have begun.
On the other hand, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake occurred in West Java recently and no loss of life or injury was detected in damage assessment studies.
A 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck the Cianjur region of West Java province last month, killing more than 300 people.
Indonesia is located in the earthquake and volcanic belt called the "Pacific Ring of Fire".
