Avalanche disaster in India: 6 dead, dozens injured
An avalanche hit a mountain pass in the Indian state of Sikkim. It was reported that 6 people died after the avalanche disaster.
An avalanche occurred at the Nathu La Mountain Pass in the northeastern Indian state of Sikkim. Authorities reported that 6 tourists lost their lives and 30 people were injured as a result of the avalanche.
The search and rescue teams stated that the 6 people who lost their lives were tourists, and that rescue efforts are continuing for at least 70 people who were stranded in the region.
Thousands of tourists flock to Sikkim every year, located under the Khangchendzonga Mountain, the third highest mountain in the world.
