An article published in Scientific American revealed the results of a recent study that proved that some people are more attractive to mosquitoes than others.

American neurobiologist Leslie Vosshall conducted a study involving 64 participants to answer the question of why some people are more attracted to mosquitoes.

Vosshall found in her study that a person's body odor plays a large role in determining whether they are persuaded to be bitten by a mosquito.

A person's odor profile is made up of different chemical compounds. After the scientists finished their research, they found a pattern. People with skin that produces more carboxylic acid are significantly more attractive to mosquitoes than those who produce less.

The research also revealed that even if a person's diet or habits change, the acid levels produced do not change over time.
