Russia Declares Social Media Giant Meta 'Terrorist'
Russia has added US-based social media giant Meta, which includes Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp, to its list of "terrorists and extremists".
Russia's Federal Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring) has included US-based social media company Meta, which includes Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp, of which Mark Zuckerberg is the CEO, on the list of "terrorist and extremist organizations".
On the other hand, the opposition Vesna movement, which took a stance against Russia's attacks on Ukraine and reacted to the partial mobilization decision announced in Russia, was added to the list of "terrorists and extremists".
Meta was found guilty of "extremist activities" in Russia in March. Meta's appeal was denied in June.
