Tons of cocaine seized on a ship arriving in Turkey!
2.3 tons of cocaine was seized on a cargo ship bound for Turkey from Peru, a South American country.
Officials said the drugs were stored in containers on the cargo ship loaded with ceramic tiles.
It was stated that the market value of the cocaine seized in the operation held in El Callao, the largest port of the country, near the capital of Peru, Lima, is at least $ 20 million.
Police Chief Luis Angel Bolanos said in a statement on the subject, “We are aware that the ships usually go to the ports of Belgium, Netherlands, Spain and France. This is the first ship that departs from Peruvian ports and has a destination in Turkey.”
According to the United Nations, (UN) Peru, along with Colombia, is among the world's largest cocaine producers.
