The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) management announced that they estimate the world's population to reach 8 billion next month, so governments should take urgent measures against inequality and low living standards.
UNFPA Executive Director Dr Natalia Kanem called for assistance to women, children and other victims who are most vulnerable to population growth.
Kanem stated that the world population will reach 8 billion on November 15 and that an alarm should be raised; “A large number of people are not a cause for fear. There is no need to worry about the world being overcrowded and under-resourced, but action needs to be taken.” she said.
