An explosion occurred in Merapi Volcano, which is 2,963 meters high, located between the center of Indonesia's Java Island and Yogyakarta.
It was reported that the volcano spewed ash and smoke up to 7 kilometers, and a 1.5 kilometer lava flow was observed.
Those living in areas close to the volcano were asked to stop all activities in the area designated as dangerous. No one has been evacuated so far.
As a result of the eruptions that took place in Merapi Volcano in 2010, at least 200 people lost their lives and hundreds of people were forced to leave their homes.
