German automotive manufacturer Volkswagen stopped production at its factory in Chengdu after increasing Covid-19 cases in China.
China's struggle with the new Covid-19 wave has forced international companies to take various measures. Volkswagen announced last week that production was stopped at its factory in Chengdu due to increasing Covid-19 cases.
The company also reported that production on 2 of its 5 product lines was suspended due to parts shortages at the factory in Changchun City. It was reported that other factories also continued their normal activities, but the situation was unstable.
German automobile company BMW announced that production in its factories in China continues as normal, but office workers have switched to a work-from-home system.
