Life came to a standstill in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, due to the heavy rain.
The Ministry of Interior and Security announced that about 800 buildings were damaged and more than 400 people were evacuated in and around Seoul. It was reported that the rains made transportation areas such as metro stations unusable. In the Gangnam district, vehicles flooded and rains paralyzed life.
According to the Associated Press, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has called for the evacuation of residents to avoid loss of life.
Rescuers stated that 4 of those who lost their lives drowned in the basement, while 2 people were found dead in a bus station that collapsed in the city of Gwangju.
