2 Cessna 208 type military trainer aircraft of the Italian Air Force collided in the air in Rome, the capital of Italy. One of the two planes caught fire, crashed onto a parked vehicle and the other crashed into vacant land.
The pilots of both planes died in the accident.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said in a statement about the accident on his social media account, "We express with great sadness that 2 of our air force pilots lost their lives in the plane crash. I express my condolences on behalf of the government. Our prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives in the accident, the 60th Fleet and all the air force."
