Finnish President Sauli Niinistö announced on his social media account that he will come to Turkey to discuss his country's NATO membership with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Niinistö stated that Turkey has reached a decision regarding Finland's NATO membership and that he will take this decision personally from President Erdogan, adding: "The Turks said I could be there when this decision was announced. Of course, I accepted this. I'm going to take the decision."
Emphasizing once again that Sweden should join NATO together with Finland, Niinistö said, "I will continue my efforts to support Sweden's NATO membership."
