A passenger train from the capital Athens to Thessaloniki and a freight train from Thessaloniki to Larissa collided outside the city of Larissa.
As a result of the collision of two trains, 36 people lost their lives according to the first determinations.
It is reported that dozens of people were injured as a result of the accident. It is also among the information that some of the injured are in serious condition.
"The collision was very violent," Thessaly governor Konstantinos Agorastos told local media, noting that at least 4 cars were derailed.
