Renowned producer Janet Yang has become the new president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Chinese-American producer made history as the Academy's first Asian president. Yang is also the fourth woman to serve as president, after Fay Kanin, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, and Bette Davis.
“Janet is a committed and strategic leader who has delivered incredible service to the Academy,” said Bill Kramer, Academy CEO.
The 66-year-old producer has worked with famous directors such as Oliver Stone and Kathryn Bigelow throughout his career. Yang worked as a producer on films such as “The Joy Luck Club” (1993), “The People vs He” “Lary Flynt” (1996) and “Over the Moon” (2020).
