As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, Orlando Bloom will support humanitarian aid and infrastructure reconstruction projects for Ukrainian children, the Office of the President of Ukraine said in a statement.
Priorities include the development of a family care system for children without parental care, the development of infrastructure for early childhood development, the creation of youth projects and initiatives. It was stated that Bloom, who visited Demydiv village as well as the cities of Kiev and Irpin during his visit to Ukraine, emphasized in his meeting with Zelenskyy that he was impressed by the courage and resilience of the Ukrainians who remained strong despite the crisis.
“Creating Safe Environments For Children Is Important”
Thanking Bloom for his visit to Ukraine and his work as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, Zelenskyy said, “Thank you for your visit, this is an important message. It is very important for us that the world knows what was going on in Ukraine during the war. Of course, we appreciate the help you provide directly to the children.”
Zelenskyy also emphasized the importance of creating a safe environment for children in Ukraine and those who had to leave the country due to the war.
Thanks to UNICEF for providing laptops to Ukrainian children's institutions, Zelenskyy urged UNICEF to direct efforts to provide shelter to Ukrainian schools.
“Of course, providing shelter for schools is a big challenge. During the war, financial support for such initiatives is of particular importance to us. Because we focus all our efforts on the defense of our state."
