Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, "Oppenheimer" is an epic thriller that plunges viewers into the thrilling paradox of a mysterious man who must risk destroying the world to save it.
Cillian Murphy plays J. Robert Oppenheimer and Emily Blunt plays Katherine "Kitty" Oppenheimer, his biologist and botanist wife. Oscar winner Matt Damon, General Leslie Groves Jr., director of the Manhattan Project; Robert Downey, Jr. as Lewis Strauss, founding member of the US Atomic Energy Commission.
Academy Award Winner Florence Pugh, psychiatrist Jean Tatlock; Benny Safdie, theoretical physicist Edward Teller; Michael Angarano plays Robert Serber and Josh Hartnett plays the pioneering American nuclear scientist Ernest Lawrence.
Oppenheimer also plays Oscar winner Rami Malek and reunites Nolan with eight Oscar-nominated actors, writers and filmmakers Kenneth Branagh.
The film is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book 'American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer' by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin. The film is produced by Atlas Entertainment's Emma Thomas, Charles Roven and Christopher Nolan.
