Two climate activists, aged 49 and 59, broke into an art gallery in Melbourne, Australia, and glued themselves to Picasso's 1951 painting 'Massacre in Korea'.
The police, who arrived at the scene, stated that two activists were arrested after being stuck in the plastic covering protecting the painting for more than an hour. Gallery management reported that the painting was not damaged.
The environmental organization Extinction Rebellion, which had carried out similar protests before, claimed responsibility for the action.
Climate activists had previously thrown a cake at the Mona Lisa, Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece on display at the Louvre Museum in Paris.
