According to the news of CNN; The effect of working conditions on the psychology of employees in the United States was investigated. As a result of the research; It has been determined that night workers have a higher risk of developing psychological disorders than those who work during the day.
DAY WORKERS RISK LESS THAN NIGHT WORKERS
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) investigated the impact of working conditions on employee psychology in 2021.
In the report prepared by the CDC, it was emphasized that inflexible working conditions, night work and changing work schedules negatively affect mental health by increasing the psychological problems that negatively affect the social and professional relationships of employees.
In the report, 2.3 percent of those who work during the day experience psychological discomfort, while this rate is 4.8 percent for those who work at night and 3.9 percent for those with a changing work schedule.
While the rate of development of stress was 4.2 percent in people who had difficulty in changing their working hours, this rate was 2.2 percent in those who worked in more flexible working conditions.
While the rate of developing more serious mental health problems was 5.8 percent in people who worked while experiencing psychological problems, this rate was 1.9 percent in people who did not have to work during this period.
UNKNOWN TRIGGERS DISEASE
"When people don't know what's going to happen and they don't have control over events, it leads to increased levels of anxiety and stress," said psychologist Dennis Stolle, one of the researchers.
Psychologist Stolle also emphasized that work schedules should be predictable so that people do not feel that their lives are getting out of control.
