Why Does the Left Side of the Head Hurt?
Migraine
Moderate or severe pain, especially on the left side of the head, can be interpreted as migraine. This pain, which causes throbbing in the head, can radiate around the eyes or on the left side of the neck.
Migraine symptoms;
- Nausea.
- Vomiting.
- Sensitivity to sound.
- Light sensitivity.
- Dizziness.
Cluster Headache
Cluster headache is severe pain on one side of the head, usually around the eyes. This type of pain usually continues intermittently between 4-12 weeks and does not recur throughout the year. Cluster headaches worsen 5-10 minutes after the onset of pain. Symptoms include:
- Nose runny.
- One eye watering.
- Facial redness.
Cervicogenic Headache
This type of headache can be caused by neck injury, arthritis, neck injuries. These pains, which start from the neck and spread to the whole face, can cause pain around the eyes, neck, shoulders and arms.
Symptoms of cervicogenic headache;
- Sensitivity to light.
- Sensitivity to sound.
- Nausea.
Vasculitis
Vasculitis pain caused by blood vessel inflammation may be referred to as temporal arteritis. The symptoms are as follows;
- Sudden vision loss.
- Pain behind the eye.
- Feeling pain while eating.
- Constant pain in one part of the head.
Brain Aneurysm
A brain aneurysm, called a weak spot in the blood vessels in the brain, does not cause any symptoms unless it ruptures. It can be life-threatening if it ruptures. In this case, there is a sudden and severe pain and it feels like a hard blow to the head. Among its symptoms;
- Neck pain.
- Stiffness in the neck
- Nausea.
