The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced yesterday that 284 passengers and 34 crew members of the Ruby Princess, which docked in Galveston, Texas on March 5, fell ill of unknown cause.
"Reported gastrointestinal disease cases are totals for the entire voyage and do not represent the number of active gastrointestinal cases at any port of call or disembarkation," the CDC statement states. The CDC reported that the search for the source of the disease is continuing.
